What's your all-time favourite boy's name?
« on: July 26, 2008, 08:04:02 PM »

Hi Ladies

Hope your TTC Blue is progressing well.

We have 6 weeks to go and still have no boy's name so I am after some ideas and suggestions.  So...if you're willing to share, what is your all-time favourite boy's name?

This will be boy #3 for us so we have pretty much used up our favourites....!

Thanks in advance.

Boyzone.

Leonard - Leo
Bradford - Brad

I really like the usuals.

William, Samuel, Joshua, Lucas, James, Christopher

We dont go with the more popular names, even though we like them.
Would think about using Leo although I think we are set on our boys name, can't share for luck purposes  ;D

I have always loved Leo, but DH wll not go for it.  We also liked Jaxson and would use Jax for short, but another family member(whom who really do not get along with) has a nephew named Jackson and has gotten pissy about us using it.

Our short list was
Brock
Carter
Tucker
Coleson
Carson
**these are not our top two names, I am saving them!!

I used to love the name Aiden, but it has become quite popular over here in the states--but growing up I loved Zachary

My all-time fave boys name is Aidan, we used that one for DS2. Were going to use it for DS1 but family pooh poohed it, so DS1 got Ethan, DS2 Aidan, Angel 1 William (Will) and DS3 is Benjamin (Ben). I too am stuck if we happen to have another boy. Lately I have a liking to Max. Not sure though, there is a '60's rock star with the exact same name, would be same first and last names. Goodluck with choosing.

Thanks guys for all your input.  We had settled on a name but a friend has just had a baby and used that one so it's back to the drawing board.  I just hate not "loving" a name.  I feel like we are just settling because we have nothing else rather than choosing a name we adore.  But I guess that is inevitable when you are up to same gender #3!

HAYDEN-- That name was on my short list but soon to be SIL threw a pissy fit about it because IF they ever have another and it is a boy, they want the name Aiden--ad since it sounds so similar she told me that "she will be EXTREMELY upset and hurt if we use it" she also told me that it was disrespectful to even think of using it since I *KNEW* she wanted Aiden!! (she is a total pice of work)

Anyway--just wanted to say that HAYDEN is one of my fave names!

KyNatMac - Did you tell her that now she knows you love the name Hayden, if she ever has a boy and calls him Aiden you will be extremly upset and hurt if she uses it, FFS they are 2 different names. You only know now that she wanted Aiden and now she knows you want Hayden! I think I would do it to spite her  ;D ;D But you have just reminded me why we NEVER tell anyone EVER our baby names, then no one can every tell me anything!

Michls--That is the joy of my lovely soon to be SIL--she is totally self absorbed, so she wouldn't care that we liked Hayden, but I should care that she liked Aiden ::) And she knows that we are wanting to try later this year, so guess what--she has now announced the she and BIL want to start ttc as soon as they get married....my mistake for telling her, but there is no guarantee that we will end up pregnant at the same time--I really do not want to go through a pregnancy with her, although we never see them unless they want something ::) Whole different topic though!

We now have a new boy name that we both really like and we are telling NOBODY!!!

Thanks Cindy.  Don't think DH would go for that one.  We are officially hopeless!  Which is why having a girl would have been so great for so many more reasons than just some pink in this house!  Never mind.  Something will probably come to me in labour.... could be dangerous!  This child may be named "never again"!!!

:) Hi BoyZone, I have 3 little boys, I found naming boys very hard too, maybe because I don't have a little girl to name, but I have always loved the name Cooper, but my husband did not like it. My boys names are Jordan 7 years old, Dylan 4 years old, and Kaylan 16 weeks old. A lot of people have commented on the name Kaylan since I have had him. It is so hard to choose a name, a very big job indeed. I am sure something will come to you.                                              Melissa
